Joint CSIR-UGC Test (NET) for Junior Research Fellowship & Lectureship



A Correspondence Course for students appearing in the JOINT CSIR-UGC JRF and Lecturership Examination. We are conducting Correspondence courses for the following  Science subjects:

  • Chemical Sciences.
  • Life Sciences.
  • Mathematical Sciences (Mathematics & Statistics).
  • Physical Sciences.

The course material is comprehensive with extensive focus on important topics alongwith inexhaustible supply of objective questions, theoritical questions and numerical problems. It is designed in the best possible manner to equip students with the knowledge and confidence required to crack the exam.

Covers the entire syllabus as prescribed by CSIR-UGC NET exam.

Part A – General Paper

Our course material contains important theory parts in brief on selected topics in Science & Maths and a large number of objective type questions with answers on examination point of view.
It will also include material on logical reasoning, graphical analysis, analytical and numerical ability, quantitative comparisons, series formation, puzzles etc. 
The course material for Part A will be provided in  2 volumes.

Part B

The Part B syllabus includes topics of all branches of your subject (viz : Physical Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Mathematical Sciences & Life Sciences). Multiple Choice Questions will be asked from all branches of your subject. Hence an in-depth study of the total subject will put one at ease in solving this paper.

Our course material is devised keeping in mind this important aspect and it covers the complete syllabus in detail with solved examples to practice which will boost your confidence to tackle the questions and score well.

Part C

Detailed notes covering the entire syllabus along with typical examples and questions are provided in our material. Additionally, Multiple Choice Questions with solutions/hints/ answers as per the exam point of view will be provided towards the end of the course.

A thorough knowledge of the subject is required to attempt this section successfully.

The course material for Part B and Part C together will be provided in about  20-25 volumes in each subject.

Towards the end of the course, there will be Model Test Papers in each subject.

For the attention of Mathematics and Statistics students only.

* Since options are given for both Part B & Part C of Mathematics and Statistics, the course material pertaining to either Mathematics or Statistics as the case may be, only will be sent.

About Joint CSIR – UGC Test for Junior Research Fellowship & Lecturership

 Eligibility: 1. Candidates who have secured at least 55% marks (without rounding off) for General and OBC candidates; 50% for SC/ST/PH/VH candidates in Master’s Degree examination; 50% for Ph.D. degree holders who have passed Master’s degree prior to 19th Sept. ’91.

2. Candidates who are in the final year of M.Sc. or equivalent examination can also apply for the test. However, such candidates will be considered eligible for JRFs/LS only after they have passed the Master’s Degree examination or equivalent with atleast 55% marks in the relevant or related subject.

Age Limit: The upper age limit for admission to the eligibility test is as under:

(a) For Junior Research Fellowship:
28 years for December/June of the corresponding years’ exam, relaxable upto 5 years in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC, physically handicapped, visually handicapped and women applicants.

(b) For Lecturership: There is no upper age limit for lecturership. The minimum age limit is 19 years.

Scheme of Examination

The test will consist of a single paper of MCQ’s of 3 hours duration. The test paper will carry a maximum of 200 marks. The question paper shall be divided into three parts:

 Part ‘A’ shall be common to all subjects. This part shall be a test containing 20 questions of General Science, Quantitative Reasoning & Analysis, Logical Reasoning, Graphical Analysis, Analytical & Numerical Ability, Series formation etc. The candidate shall be required to answer any 15 questions of two marks each. The total marks allocated to this section shall be 30 out of 200.

There will be negative marking @ 25% for each wrong answer.

Part ‘B’ shall contain subject-related conventional Multiple Choice Questions. The total marks allocated to this section generally will be 70 - 75 out of 200.

There will be negative marking @ 25% for each wrong answer in Chemical Sciences, Life Sciences, Mathematical Sciences and Physical Sciences

Part ‘C’ shall contain questions that may test the candidate’s knowledge of scientific concepts and/ or application of the scientific concepts. The questions shall be of analytical natural where a candidate is expected to apply the scientific knowledge to arrive at the solution to the given scientific problem. The total marks allocated to this section shall be 95 – 100 out of 200.

There will be negative marking @ 25% for each wrong answer in Chemical Sciences, Life Sciences and Physical Sciences.
